A Kentucky State Capitol is located in Frankfort and is the seat of the three branches (executive, legislative, judicial) of the state government of the U.S. state of Kentucky. A building is employed on the National Register of Historic Places.

History
From either 1792 to 1830, Kentucky had deuce buildings help when a capitol. Each burned down.

Inside 1830, the freshly capitol was built & was inside have until 1910. The bitterly contested 1899 state governor election came to a climax whenever Democratic claimant William Goebel was assassinated at the capitol in his way to become inaugurated. the building was replaced due to the require for the big building for a growing state government. Now, that capitol occurs as museum.

Around 1904, the Kentucky General Assembly chose Frankfort (over Lexington and Louisville) as the location for the state capital & appropriated $1 million for the construction of a lasting state capitol, to exist as located in southern Frankfort.

A capitol was designed by Frank Mills Andres, a distinguished & award-winning designer. He utilized a Beaux Arts style and involved numerous authoritative French interior designs.
